In this highly visible role, The Assistant Director of Career Development and Engagement is instrumental in providing career and performance coaching to accelerate the critical crossover between individual employee and firm goals.

Working at the intersection of personal, performance and career coaching, leadership development, training and project management, the Assistant Director of Career Development and Engagement will provide both individual and group coaching, training, and programmatic support to help team members proactively "own their careers" so they can be engaged, growing and productive at work.

They will translate coaching themes into wider firm needs and work closely with the Career Development and Engagement Team to identify the best methods for coaching delivery as we continue to scale.

This role is supervised by the Director of Career Development and is part of a 3-person team and larger Talent Management Team of 10 people.

The team is comprised of a Director, another Assistant Director, and a Talent Management Coordinator who provides scheduling and administrative support. This is a new role.

Core Duties : Coaching

Coaching

Provide Individual Coaching and Triage Support for an assigned case load of approximately 60 Team Members

  • Manage the delivery and documentation for coaching team members
  • Meet with performance managers to align expectations between individual and firm-objectives
  • Collaborate with L&D and Talent Management on training and performance issues

Training

  • Collaborate with Career Development and Engagement Team to translate 1-1 coaching themes into training needs
  • Collaborate with Learning and Development Advisor to identify solutions
  • Become Certified in TypeCoach (Company Paid)
  • Provide back-up and or co-teach existing career development programs (Full Potential Friday, TypeCoach Tuesday, Feedback Lab, New hire orientation)
  • Create / Co-Create additional trainings as needed

Additional Duties

  • Track KPI's for coaching appointments, training, and program effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the quarterly dashboard and partner updates
  • Contribute to Talent Management Firm-wide communications (newsletter, updates, HUB posting)
  • Meet with resource management to deliver coaching trends
  • Triage performance and potential retention issues
  • Support other firm program initiatives as needed

Required Skills :

  • 7+ years' experience providing career development coaching / advising
  • Graduate training (or equivalent) in counseling and coaching
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven experience developing and leading in-person and remote trainings for small to large groups
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong emotional Intelligence
  • Strong experience in project management
  • Ability to move from strategy to execution
  • Demonstrated experience in personal, career and / or performance coaching
  • Strong technology competencies (Power Point, Excel, Microsoft Office)
  • Comfort with ambiguity
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced and growing company
  • Ability to work with all levels within an organization from new college hires through c 'suite

Additional desired skills :

  • MBTI or TypeCoach Certified
  • Experience working in a professional services environment
  • Experience engaging a remote workforce
  • Experience with employee engagement programs
  • Coaching Certification
