Overview

Position Title : Line Cook

Reports to : Dietary Manager

Starting pay : $24.50 per hour

Base pay range : $50,960.00 / yr - $50,960.00 / yr

Note : This range is provided by Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience—talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and serves meals for patients, employees, medical staff, and visitors
  • Cleans work area as necessary or assigned
  • Accepts and reconciles deliveries and puts away stock
  • Participates in activities which enhance professional growth and development
  • Performs related duties, as requested
  • Upholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standards

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Verbal de-escalation and physical intervention program as approved by the CNO
  • Ability to concentrate in a busy environment; meet deadlines; be flexible in work hours to meet patient and organizational needs
  • Ability to maintain self-control in volatile or challenging interactions
  • Ability to adjust recipes to achieve desired results
  • Ability to read and comprehend recipes or instructions on prepackaged products
  • Ability to read, convert and adjust mathematical measurements
  • Proficiency with kitchen equipment (knives, slicers, mixers, dishwashers); knowledge of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work independently in a physically demanding environment for extended periods
  • Ability to multitask
  • Physical ability to stand for at least 1 hour and lift up to 50 pounds; reach forward, up, down, and to the side
  • Maintains a valid ServeSafe or equivalent food safety certification
  • English proficiency required
