POSITION SUMMARY
The Schilling Laboratory at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to participate in innovative research aimed at understanding the biological and chemical processes that are common to both age-related diseases and aging.
For this position there will be a particular emphasis on aging and age-related disease samples using proteomic workflows to decipher mechanisms as well as discover potential biomarkers.
The qualified applicant will work with cutting-edge technologies and instrumentation in liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
Located in Novato, California, 30 miles north of San Francisco, the Buck Institute offers a rich scientific environment with renowned scientists in the field of aging research.

- The starting salary for a new postdoc at the Buck is $70,000 IN 2024, with a range up to $82,000 commensurate with postdoc level & experience.

PROJECTS
Aging and age-related disease research proteomic analysis of human tissues during the aging process, cancer tissues, Alzheimer’s disease tissues, and biofluids.
The project will be embedded in a large collaborative effort at the Buck Institute and with outside collaborators.

- Many other projects are available in the laboratory that are directly related to neurodegenerative diseases, proteostasis, kidney injury metabolism, and the role of sirtuins.
QUALIFICATIONS
- PhD in Chemistry, Biology, or other related fields
- Experience in independently operating MS instrumentation
- Enthusiasm to work on relevant disease-related projects with precious sample sets (human)
- Experience in Data Processing
