About The Position
- Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Pediatrics Stepdown & Floor Job Duration : 8 Weeks Shift : 12-hour Nights;
- may float to Pediatric Step Down, Pediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, PICU Step Down Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 2 years License : Required;
- willing to wait for submission Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); APHON is a bonus, not required Must-Have : Pediatric experience;
Pediatric Step Down is a bonus Job Description : Work in a unit with 34 beds, including 9 step down and 6 oncology- Maintain patient ratios of SD 1 : 3, Floor 1 : 5, and Onc 1 : 4- Care for patients with common diagnoses such as RSV, Post-Op, Cystic Fibrosis, GI, Nephrology, and Endocrine Pediatric Med Surg- Work alongside charge nurse / house supervisor and with assistance from nurse aides (1 : 12 ratio)- Utilize RT equipment including Hi Flow / Cpap- No requirement for titration of drips or reading strips by RNs- Capability to work varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and floated areas- Dress code requires wearing pewter scrubs- Use EPIC charting system- Participation in inpatient pediatrics-specific orientationThis position requires dedication to working in a dynamic and supportive pediatrics environment with an emphasis on flexible floating to various specialized units as needed.
