Role Summary :
As a Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring patients' safe and timely transportation to and from their homes, Day Health Centers, and community appointments.
You will uphold the highest standards of vehicle safety, participant care, and adherence to schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Safely operate vehicles, including wheelchair tie-down and lift usage, while transporting patients.
Maintain patient and vehicle safety through regular maintenance, pre-trip inspections, and adherence to safety protocols.
Provide punctual and safe transport for patients, meals, and supplies as scheduled or requested.
Support patient care plans developed by the team, assisting patients during transport and reporting observations to the team.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Transportation Coordinator.
Required Qualifications :
Valid California Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Ability to operate all types of vehicles used by our client and basic mechanical knowledge.
One year of experience working with frail or elderly populations is preferred.
Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to interact positively with elderly patients, demonstrating mature judgment.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Bilingual in Spanish, Cantonese, or any other language is highly preferred.
Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly preferred.
Previous experience in transportation services or a similar role is highly preferred.
Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stoop, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions of the wrist and hands.
Must have visual acuity.
Ability to lift / move weight within individual physical capability, use appropriate lifting devices, or request assistance when needed.
