Work Schedule :
Monday- Friday, 8.5 or 9 Hours - between 7am to 6 : 30pm, with a 30 minute or 1 hours lunch break
No Weekends, No Holidays, No Call!
Job Specific Details and Tasks : The duties for the HCW include but are not limited to the following :
- Develop coherent treatment strategies.
- Incorporate new clinical procedures sufficient to perform clinical services independently.
- Conduct patient assessments; provide treatment interventions and consultation to other health care professionals.
- Use instrumentation (e.g., videofluoroscopy, nasendoscopy, stroboscopy, computer technology) to observe, collect data, and measure parameters of communication and swallowing, or other upper aero-digestive functions in accordance with the principles of evidence-based practice.
- Provide prevention, screening, consultation, assessment and diagnostic, treatment, intervention,management, counseling, and follow-up services for disorders of speech and language, including comprehension and expression in oral, written, graphic, and manual modalities.
Additional duties for EDIS :
Select, administer and interpret commonly used diagnostic tests including vocabulary, articulation and language batteries for adults and children.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Education : Master's degree in speech pathology or communication disorders. Graduate from a college or university that includes at least 18 semester hours in the field of speech pathology by a regional accreditation organization and a speech pathology academic program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation of the American Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience : Minimum one year of direct speech / language experience within the last three years with early intervention.
- Licensure : Possess a current unrestricted license to practice as a Speech Pathologist in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
- Certification : Maintain current certification of Clinical Competency in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Life Support Certification : Current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Security : Must possess ability to pass a Government background check / security clearance.
