The Operations Specialist is key in performing specialized operational securities processing activities to support the firm’s business lines.
This position involves various tasks, including instruction receipt and authentication, entry instruction and verification (with dual controls), processing and recording of transactions, reporting and acknowledgment, and reconciliation.
The Operations Specialist II will work across multiple areas, such as Trade Entry, Foreign Exchange Processing, Trade Settlement, Corporate Action Processing, and Research Notification.
Key Responsibilities :
- Instruction Receipt and Authentication :
- Receive and authenticate instructions from various sources.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness before proceeding with processing.
- Entry Instruction and Verification :
- Perform dual controls to enter and verify instructions in the system.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and activities.
- Processing and Recording :
- Execute the processing of transactions in areas such as Trade Entry, Foreign Exchange, and Corporate Actions.
- Record and acknowledge transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reporting and Reconciliation :
- Prepare and distribute reports related to operational activities.
- Reconcile transactions and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
- Support for Securities Processing Activities :
- Provide operational support in areas like Trade Settlement, Research Notification, and more.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless processing and communication.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with team members and external parties.
- Strong analytical skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage time efficiently.
- Understanding of global custody, equity finance, prime brokerage, or the securities lending industry.
- Familiarity with Securities Lending applications such as Global One, Equilend, Loanet is a plus.
Qualifications :
- BS / BA degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 0-1 years of industry experience, with a preference for candidates with experience in securities lending.
