Job Description
Join our team at Alphataraxia as a Senior Software Engineer and play a pivotal role in evolving our software engineering capabilities.
Your mission will be to build and refine our investment platform and tools to meet the growing needs of our business. Our firm leverages data-powered proprietary systems that are crucial for trading speculative wholesale power contracts and hedging risk in our portfolios.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing these systems and tools, ensuring a seamless experience for our investment teams to support informed decision-making and transactions.
Responsibilities
- Building out proprietary systems and tools that are the backbone of our business in trading speculative wholesale power contracts and hedging out risk in our existing portfolios
- Interfacing directly with Investment Analysts, Investment Engineers, Data Engineers, and DevOps Engineers to deliver needed tools and improve the existing platform
- Designing, building, and maintaining critical tools and processes used to transact in energy markets
- Ensuring excellence in code quality and architecture
- Proposing architectural improvements and changes to ATX’s platform and tools to up our game
- Mentoring early career engineers in software development best practices in order to foster an environment of excellence and growth
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in a Software Engineering or similar role
- Strong coding skills in Python, FastAPI preferred
- Full stack coding experience, with a passion for backend architecture and a comfort with working on the frontend (React)
- Strong testing mentality
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- An ability to grapple with quantitative concepts and systems, as this role interfaces with largely technical and quantitative peers
- Comfort working both individually as well as collaboratively, at times in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong ownership of work to proactively lead improvements for the Investment Engineering team
- A love of learning new technologies and a desire to experiment with new tools and systems

Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range is $170,000-$200,000
- Annual discretionary bonus based on performance
