A Brief Overview

As an Electrical Service Technician, you will work with customers to troubleshoot electrical equipment issues, create solutions, and ensure a smooth interaction, all while upholding the integrity of Wood-Mizer's core values.

Additionally, when a customer service call or defect occurs in the field system or over the phone, you will analyze, find, and fix electrical problems.

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot High-voltage and low-voltage DC equipment; up to 480-voltage AC.
  • Interfaces with customers regarding technical and electrical aspects of the organization's products or services.
  • Relays customer feedback regarding products to appropriate personnel in sales, quality assurance, and product management.
  • Provides problem resolution and troubleshooting to customers over the telephone and in the field.
  • Assists with product updates.
  • Determines the best method to resolve complex technical and electrical issues to ensure customer satisfaction while ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to the organization's policies.
  • Provides guidance, training, and instruction to non-technical representatives.
  • Make service calls or deliveries to Wood-Mizer customers.
  • Conduct product demonstrations for the sales department at commercial and industrial shows.
  • Manage return merchandise authorizations (RMAs) within cycle-time goals.
  • Train customers in an individual, classroom or on location setting
  • Determines parts to order for repairs and timeliness of need and documents service-related activities.
  • Assist with equipment installation.
  • Complete Certification material as required.
  • Able to meet minimum DOT requirements.
  • Maintain DOT requirements (log books, etc ).
  • 20% travel is required. Weekends may be included. Travel will be mostly domestic, but on occasion, internationally.

Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma High School Education or Equivalent. Req
  • Trade School Certificate Electronics or any related field. Pref

Experience Qualifications

  • 1-3 years Prior experience in customer service areas and working with the public Required
  • 1-3 years Prior Experience with service in the manufacturing field or similar field. Preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Mechanical Aptitude (High proficiency)
  • Must be willing to travel (High proficiency)
  • 12 volt DC electrical knowledge and experience. (High proficiency)
  • High-Volt AC Electrical experience. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledgeable in the operations of PLC’s. (High proficiency)
  • Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems : Must understand fluid flow inside a closed system. (Medium proficiency)
  • Typing skills, telephone skills, and computer literacy (Medium proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel. (Medium proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

Drivers License - MDOT Medical Physical Required
