Our client, a global leader in the supply of raw materials and ingredients requires an experienced food manufacturing industry sales professional.
The successful candidate will manage sales activities of ingredients, additives and raw materials used in food and nutraceutical manufacturing in a southern California based territory.
Interested candidates must currently reside in this home office based territory.
Responsibilities
- Grow revenue and profit from an existing base of business while generating new leads and closing new sales of specialty raw materials and ingredients used to make food and nutraceutical products.
- Develop successful relationships across multiple levels in the customer's organization with an emphasis on food manufacturing and formulation scientists.
- Manage all pricing, sales agreements and contracts.
- Grow territory market share via tactical efforts to replace competitive materials.
- Create sales reports and manage all customer information via the CRM system.
- Develop account plans and coordinate sales activities with other company team members and management.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree; Chemistry or related science major preferred.
- At least 3 years experience selling specialty raw materials and ingredients into food and nutraceutical applications.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and closing target accounts.
- Proven experience developing successful projects with target customer manufacturing and product development personnel.
- Technical aptitude and problem solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills in addition to excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel within the assigned territory as much as 50% of time.
