This job assists in procedures competently and professionally, assures appropriate handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies, and assures availability of equipment and supplies for surgical procedures.
Scrubs for surgical procedures and performs other duties as assigned by the RN.
Education
Required - Graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or military program (Online surgical tech programs not accepted) OR 5 years of Surgical Technologist Experience.
Associate degree or Certificate Program with onsite clinical experience. (Remote clinical experience not accepted and exclusive online programs not accepted)
Work Experience
Required - None
Preferred -One year experience in a similar medical setting.
Basic analytical experience.
Certifications
Preferred- Certification in Surgical Technology
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
- Good organizational skills
- Good time management skills and self directed
- Demonstrates Good Judgement
Job Duties
- Performs direct patient care duties, including assisting physicians during procedures
- Assists in the day-to-day operations of the department
- Maintains required clinical knowledge, technical skills, equipment, training and credentials.
- Adapts to change in a positive constructive manner
- Ensures cleanliness and / disinfection of endoscopes while maintaining quality control measures
