The Operating Room Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver responsible for providing care to patients in the operating room.
This includes completing initial assessments, developing care plans, and implementing nursing interventions.
- Prepares OR Suite for patients, interviews patients, and transports them to the appropriate OR Suite and OR Table
- Positions and preps patients for procedures, supports the surgical team, and provides post-procedure handoff to receiving RN
- Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety, communicates effectively with colleagues, and fulfills departmental competencies
