Our Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will be responsible for interviewing and eliciting requirements from business stakeholders and writing user stories for our software developers.
The BSA is responsible for understanding and documenting existing business processes and collaborating with the technical team to recommend solutions to meet those needs and conform to industry best practices.
This role requires someone who is comfortable challenging assumptions and proposing new solutions to satisfy the various stakeholders’ underlying needs.
The BSA will serve as the primary point of contact on projects throughout the SDLC and should be comfortable leading a project from conception through deployment.
Responsibilities :
- Elicit functional / nonfunctional requirements using interviews, document analysis, and business process analysis.
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the true underlying needs.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with multiple business and IT partners to analyze needs and deliver solutions.
- Create and maintain documentation such as : BPMN 1.2 Process Diagrams, DMN Decision Tables, Entity Relationship Diagrams, Data Flow Diagrams, User Stories, and other relevant documentation as needed by the individual project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally and build relationships with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Evaluate new project requests from business partners to determine high-level solution and system impacts.
Job Requirements :
- Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Information Technology degree or equivalent expertise and industry experience.
- Minimum 3-4 years of experience.
- Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery methods.
- Strong facilitation skills required, including setting expectations, managing agenda, engaging participants, and resolving conflicts.
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
- Self-starter who can effectively work independently as well as in a cross-functional team.
- Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously, managing customer expectations and priorities.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
