About the role :

As a Senior Principal Engineer, SoC Verification , you will be a key technical lead member of the design verification team at Ampere to deliver high quality next generation cloud-native server class SoCs.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing the verification of complex SoC subsystems, ensuring the highest levels of quality and performance.

This position requires a deep understanding of digital logic design principles, advanced verification methodologies, and AI Accelerator subsystem components.

What you’ll achieve :

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive verification plans for SoC subsystems, including High Bandwidth Memory (HBM).

Outlining goals, timelines, and resource requirements.

• Collaborate with Arch and RTL teams to define, develop and implement system-level, chip-level, and unit-level test strategies for functional and performance verification.
• Drive the creation and implement testbenches using hardware modeling languages like System Verilog and advanced verification methodologies such as UVM.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, designers, emulation and software engineers to ensure robust verification processes.
• Develop directed and random test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage and validation of the design.
• Lead debug sessions to identify root causes of failures using simulators and waveform debuggers.
• Debug and resolve complex verification issues through rigorous analysis and collaborative problem-solving.
• Mentor and guide junior verification engineers in best practices and advanced verification techniques.

About you :

• Minimum of 10 years of SoC and IP verification experience.
• 3+ years AI Accelerators Verification exposure.
• 3+ years of HBM or PCIe based subsystem verification expertise desired.
• 3+ years of knowledge with CHI / AXI protocol specifications or coherent fabric verification.
• Strong verification experience on SOC subsystems , their interactions and debugging the glass jaw issues.
• Strong understanding of digital logic design principles. Proficiency in HDL languages like System Verilog.
• 5+ experience with UVM and other advanced verification methodologies.
• Extensive experience in UVM testbench development from scratch , constraint solving, and debugging simulation issues.
• Verification experience on Emulation is a plus.
• Skilled in debugging RTL design issues using simulators and waveform debuggers.
• Use of simulation tools like Verdi, NCSim, Questa.
• Proficiency in Perl or Python for automation tasks.
• Good knowledge of high-performance microprocessor architecture and complex SoCs.
• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

The full base pay range for this role is between $171,800 and $286,300. We offer an annual bonus program tied to internal company goals and annual meritocratic equity awards that enable our employees to participate in the success of the company.
