Job brief :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager of Revenue Accounting to join our finance team. This role is critical in overseeing the entire order-to-cash process, ensuring accurate billing, collections, revenue recognition, and reporting.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of GAAP, strong leadership abilities, and a proven track record in managing revenue accounting functions.

The impact you'll make :

• Manage end-to-end order cash process, with responsibility for ensuring timely and accurate billing, collections, revenue recognition, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Review sales tax calculations and manage sales tax inquiries from clients. Reconcile sales tax records with returns filed.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions.
• Reconcile revenue and other financial accounts.
• Participate in the development of new products to determine the recording of revenue and develop key controls and new or enhanced reporting as necessary.
• Serve as subject matter expert on billing systems for upgrades and process changes.
• Collaborate with IT, sales, and other internal groups in process improvement initiatives.
• Review contracts to interpret terms and conditions and determine revenue recognition.
• Coordinate the collection of overdue accounts.
• Hire, train, and provide direction to billing staff.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process.

What you've accomplished :

• 5+ years of relevant accounting experience, with experience in billing and revenue.
• Knowledge of sales tax recognition.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficient in accounting software (NetSuite strongly preferred), Google Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
