Job Summary :
Our client is seeking an experienced and driven Development Manager to join their team in the marina industry. The Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of marina development projects, including expansions, renovations, and new builds.
This role requires strong project management skills, industry expertise, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities :
Project Planning & Management : Lead the planning, design, and execution of marina development projects from concept through completion.
Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans.
- Stakeholder Coordination : Work closely with internal teams, contractors, engineers, architects, and regulatory agencies to ensure all aspects of the project are aligned with strategic objectives and comply with local regulations.
- Permitting & Compliance : Manage the permitting process, including environmental, zoning, and regulatory approvals. Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Budget Management : Develop and manage project budgets. Monitor costs and ensure financial targets are met. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Risk Management : Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Address challenges proactively to keep projects on track.
- Vendor Management : Source, negotiate, and manage contracts with vendors, contractors, and consultants. Ensure high standards of work and adherence to project specifications.
- Design Oversight : Collaborate with design teams to ensure that project designs are practical, cost-effective, and enhance the overall functionality and aesthetics of the marina.
- Reporting & Documentation : Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including progress reports, meeting minutes, and compliance records.
Present regular updates to senior management.
Community Relations : Engage with the community and stakeholders to ensure transparency and support for development projects.
Attend community meetings and respond to public inquiries.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Real Estate Development, or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management or development within the marina, waterfront, or real estate development industry.
- Strong understanding of marina operations, coastal permitting processes, and environmental regulations.
- Proven track record of managing complex development projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and CAD software.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a plus.
