Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Dam Engineer to support geotechnical, civil infrastructure, and dams projects as part of the Dams and Reservoirs group in Oakland, CA.

The candidate will be responsible for leading multi-disciplinary project teams in developing solutions for key clients. Our technical leads will provide guidance and expertise and additional technical training to the candidate, as desired.

As a Project Manager , you will be engaged with project delivery and the successful integration of technical leaders in multi-disciplined projects.

Ideally, you will have, but not limited to :

  • Project management experience working with clients in government, major construction, or infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within schedule, and to client parameters, including a demonstrated understanding of project management frameworks
  • Serves as lead engineer on mid- to large size projects.
  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.
  • Approves and signs off on work.
  • Provides technical expertise for studies and design efforts.
  • Presents complex technical solutions to clients.
  • Performs quality control reviews of work developed by others.
  • Participates in development of technical proposals.
  • Provides estimates for the engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements on large projects.

Your background and experience will enable you to be confident working directly with clients and winning work, while also being able to roll up your sleeves to deliver quality technical solutions for our clients.

Your experience across the elements of engineering design, infrastructure lifecycle, and consulting will help to facilitate further growth of our services across the region.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

  • BA / BS in Civil Engineering or related study + 8 years of relevant experience OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education.
  • California Professional Engineer (PE) License or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • 15 years of relevant experience including dam analysis, investigation, design, construction, project management.
  • Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Heavy civil construction design experience
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Business development for new and existing clients, prepare engineering services proposals, cost estimates, and schedules.
  • Experience managing engineering staff preferred but not required.

Additional Information

  • Relocation is available for this role.
  • Sponsorship is available for this position (current US Employment Visa holders)
  • Occasional client / site travel may be required.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $220,000.00.
