JOBSUMMARY
This is an Operationsposition responsible for supervising and directing the activitiesassociated with delivery. Responsibilities include but are notlimited to, collaborative direction to delivery supervisory staff,specific direction to drivers, routing, safety, andcompliance.
Shift : Monday Friday from 1 : 00 PMto 10 : 00 PM with availability for extended business hours andWeekends asneeded.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervisesthe daily work and safety of delivery associates, includingadherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to plannedroutes, and providing safe and efficient customerservice.
- Analyzes live and historical data toensure accuracy for maintaining optimal delivery plans and on-timecustomer service.
- Supervises labor hours anddirects labor activities to stay withinbudget.
- Recommends work schedules includingstop changes, classification changes, customer open / close times,window expectations and provides to the appropriate person fornecessary changes.
- Supervises the properselection utilization of company assets in support of the deliverydepartment.
- Coordinates required repairs withproper departments as necessary.
- Reviewsdelivery productivity reporting to the appropriate supervisor forreview and determination.
- Suggests efficiencyideas, cost reduction measures and assist with implementation ofdelivery changes.
- Interprets, trains andconsistently applies company policies, protocols and proceduresincluding but not limited to food safety, DOT (department oftransportation), record keeping, performance expectations, and safework methods, etc.
- Communicates with SalesManagement and Marketing Associates via email and maintains currentcommunications board data to collaboratively resolve any customeror delivery opportunities orissues.
- Communicates proactively with driversand directs activities to ensure successful adherence to dailydelivery schedules and departmental performance goals and overtimeobjectives.
- Coordinates efforts withTransportation Road Supervisors and with Safety Trainer to insureconsistent training, conducting associate observations, updatingpreferred work methods, timely accident investigations to determineroot causes, and routine safety inspections.
Makes recommendationsfor disciplinary action and / or behavior modification where requiredbased on a consistent review of performance datametrics.
- Ability to keyboardproficiently.
- Utilize cannedreporting.
- Create specific ad hoc reports toidentify areas for improvements.
- Proficient inMicrosoft Office suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well asnumerousvariants.
Education
- High school diploma orgeneral education degree (GED)
- Two or four-yearcollege degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management orsimilar majorpreferred.
Experience
Oneto three years related experience and / or training; or equivalentcombination of education and relatedexperience.

Certificates,Licenses, andRegistrations
- Completea Sysco approved a defensive drivingprogram
- HazMat certificationpreferred.
