We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Acute Dialysis Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team.
Position Overview :
Core Dialysis is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to perform acute dialysis procedures in the Clear Lake area.
As an Acute Dialysis Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis procedures in acute care settings.
This role involves working across diverse healthcare settings, including acute care hospitals, long-term care hospitals, and rehabilitation hospitals.
As a vital team member, with your expertise, the Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to ensure each patient's needs are met with the highest standards of care while adhering to stringent processes and protocols during the safe and effective administration of acute dialysis therapy.
- This role offers flexibility, accommodating full-time or PRN positions based on the company's requirements.
- This role typically operates with scheduled shifts from Monday through Sunday. Occasional weekend assignments are needed for specific positions.
- This role typically operates with a call-out schedule to manage any unforeseen emergencies as needed for specific positions.
- While certification is not required for this position, we welcome and appreciate it. Certified (CDN and CNN) candidates bring added value to our team, and we recognize the effort and expertise that certification represents.
- While ACLS certification is not required, it is highly valued and makes you a significant asset to our nursing team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Administer dialysis procedures to acute care patients, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis treatment, ensuring their safety and comfort. Assess patients' physical and emotional needs and provide appropriate care and support.
- Accurately and efficiently prepares, administers, and documents all prescribed medications within your scope of practice.
Ensures all medication processes are in compliance with all applicable regulatory standards and statutes.
- Demonstrates effective delegation and supervision of the clinical environment.
- Applies assessment, planning, implementation / intervention, and evaluation processes in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care and facility needs.
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed within your scope of practice.
- Adhere to all patient-specific and facility-level policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Provide safe and effective dialysis procedures in compliance with Core Dialysis standards and state and federal regulations.
- Educate patients and families on dialysis procedures, treatment plans, lifestyle modifications, disease processes, access care, diet, infection control, and other relevant topics.
Mobilize appropriate resources to best meet the patient's needs. Serve as an educational resource.
- Maintain consistent, confidential documentation of all pertinent data, assessments, care plans, and evaluations in the patient's medical record.
- Accurately prepare, administer, and document all prescribed medications, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with the healthcare facility team and Core Dialysis team to ensure consistency in dialysis procedure processes.
- Mobilize appropriate resources to best meet patient needs.
- Rotate with other Core Dialysis team members to ensure coverage for on-call shifts.
- Maintain compliance by adhering to equipment manufacturer recommendations, company policies and procedures, and industry standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulatory mandates.
- Ensure patient needs are met while promoting a customer-friendly environment.
- Adhere to patient-specific and facility policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Perform delegated tasks such as inventory management.
- Ensure that all equipment labels are current, clearly visible, and feature legible handwriting at all times. Additionally, coordinate equipment testing information with the corresponding documentation on company forms for consistency and accuracy.
- Demonstrate proper equipment usage and include accurate and complete documentation .
- Execute and oversee the daily and weekly hemodialysis machine disinfection process and water testing in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
- Practice safety measures and infection control standards.
- Facilitate the transportation of equipment and supplies as required.
- Maintain compliance with Core Dialysis standards and regulatory requirements.
- Foster strong relationships with external vendors and internal colleagues through effective communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Promote financial stewardship by responsibly managing company resources and diligently caring for all equipment and supplies.
Additionally, prioritize the safeguarding of company information to maintain confidentiality and uphold integrity.
Additional responsibilities may be delegated to you in alignment with the requirements outlined in your job description.
Qualifications : Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas.
- Current BLS CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute nursing experience, with a focus on acute dialysis preferred.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage complex patient needs.
- Physical capability to perform tasks including patient handling and emergency response.
- Ability to work effectively and critically think in a fast-paced and at times emergency environment.
- Reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts.
- Proficiency in English; bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficient in reading and writing and basic mathematical skills.
- Use of Core Dialysis technology for receiving work assignments, communicating work progress, and completing assignments.
- Follows Core Dialysis physical and electronic checklists to always maintain survey readiness.
- Flexibility and availability to work at least 32 hours per week, including covering call-outs as needed for specific positions.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions efficiently.
- Ability to perform and complete physical tasks including, but not limited to repositioning patients, lifting and carrying supplies, lifting, handling equipment, bending, reaching, and responding to any emergency that may arise.
- Compliance with COVID-19 protocols, including vaccination or exemption requirements. Core Dialysis follows CDC guidelines and state regulations.
Proof of vaccination or qualified exemption is required.
