Detailed Job Description :
Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) :
Conduct Therapy Sessions : Assist in conducting therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs.
Implement Therapy Plans : Support the implementation of therapy plans to help students achieve their speech and language goals.
Individual and Group Therapy : Conduct individual or small group therapy sessions under the supervision of the SLP.
Support Classroom Communication : Work within classroom settings to support communication and language development.
Assessment and Documentation :
Maintain Records : Keep accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
Document Progress : Regularly document student progress, ensuring data is up-to-date for IEP meetings and parent-teacher conferences.
Collaboration and Communication :
Work with Stakeholders : Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to address students' communication needs.
Prepare Materials : Prepare materials and resources necessary for effective therapy sessions.
Adhere to Standards : Follow ethical and professional standards in all interactions and therapy practices.
Professional Development :
Stay Informed : Keep current with advancements in speech-language pathology to improve therapy practices.
Engage in Learning : Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements :
Preferred : Previous experience in school or pediatric settings.
Required : SLPA license
Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
