About The Role Hipcamp is looking for a Senior Sales Manager to join as a leader in Hipcamps US Market Operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of Account Representatives (Host Experience Managers), responsible for driving the growth and expansion of our Host community.
Hipcamp is in early stages of building out this sales function and is looking for an experienced leader who will help strategize, test ,and build the playbooks from the ground up.
As a Sales Manager, you will refine our target-setting methodology, create sales compensation structures, ensure the right people and processes are in place while closely collaborating with senior leadership to execute against both short- and long-term market goals.

Team Management : + Lead and develop a team of 6+ high performing Account Representatives (Host Experience Managers), each of whom are tasked with both sales and account management responsibilities
- Provide hands-on coaching to ensure the team meets and exceeds monthly target business goals
- Develop automated reporting tools to streamline measurement of team performance metrics
- Develop the team to become top achievers and future leaders
Execution : + Work with senior leadership to establish OKRs and targets / goals for the sales team
- Work cross-functionally (e.g., Product, Marketing, Operations) to source and prioritize leads, as well as optimize sales tooling
- Exceed monthly sales and account management targets / goals and successfully complete all activities that drive revenue generation and host satisfaction
- Implement strategic coaching, planning, and forecasting
Business Acumen : + Build and refine a sales strategy that will extend our leading market position
- Utilize data and industry knowledge to coach teams, share best practices and troubleshoot how to best communicate the value of Hipcamp to landowners
- Prioritize and effectively manage your teams time to maximize business impact
Customer Centricity : + Help design processes that solve issues at scale and improve the efficiency of our teams and the experience of our Host partners, whether it be sprint planning, leads prospecting, qualification, pitching, closing or onboarding
Foster a Leave it Better mentality within your team that empowers individuals to become true owners of their pipelines and advocates of our Host partners
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years full cycle sales experience as independent contributor
- 3-5 years of leadership experience within sales and account management while building, leading, coaching, and growing a team of 5+ direct reports
- Thoughtful leader with excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence
- Consistent track record of success leading a team to exceed new business and retention goals
- Experience handling sales activity and analyzing metrics to deliver results against plans
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves as required to refine targets, define compensation structures, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with both Field / Outside Sales and Inside Sales
- Experience with account management and / or customer success
- Experience leading a distributed / remote team
- CRM experience
- Prior travel, hospitality, and / or marketplace experience

Compensation will be a mix of salary and stock options. We are a 100% remote company post Covid-19.
