Job Details
Key Responsibilities and Core Duties :
- Oversee and manage all aspects of operational accounting, including revenue management, joint interest billing (JIB), and accounts payable, ensuring close coordination with financial accounting.
- Supervise the preparation and submission of sales and use tax filings.
- Support the accurate and timely creation of financial reports, statements, and analyses for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Work closely with operations teams, offering financial insights to aid in decision-making for capital investments, cost control, and operational performance improvements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis tied to operational revenues and expenditures.
- Review and assess operational financial data to spot trends, risks, and opportunities, providing recommendations for enhancements.
- Act as a primary liaison during internal and external audits, supplying necessary documentation, explanations, and assistance.
- Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis support as needed for internal teams.
Qualifications :
- 7+ years oil and gas accounting
- BOLO, Open Invoice
- Bachelors in Finance or Accounting
- Upstream Oil and Gas experience required
