Medical Transcriptionist

LabCorp is seeking a Medical Transcriptionist to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee. This role will include transcribing, coding, and delivering gross descriptions on surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology.

The work schedule for this position is :

Monday - Friday, 12 : 00 pm - 9 : 30 pm with rotating Saturdays, 8 : 00 am - 12 : 00 pm.

Job Description :

Transcribing codes and delivering gross and microscopic descriptions on surgical pathology cases comprised of moderately difficult medical terminology.

Accurate and timely data entry of dictated and / or handwritten pathology cases into the laboratory information system

Identifying problems, determines and provides / implements appropriate corrective action / accurate solutions

Researching, troubleshooting and follow-up to ensure all inquiries / problems are resolved in a timely manner

Job Requirements :

• High school diploma / equivalent with transcription certificate OR 1-3 years experience in transcription / transcription-related experience
• Past pathology experience is a definite plus, but not required
• An associate's degree is preferred

Previous experience using foot pedal, audio software, and word processing software preferred

Knowledge of medical terms and medical language.

Knowledge of medical billing and codes.

Advanced spelling and grammar required.
