Job Overview :
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology provides professional nursing care following accepted standards of practice as outlined by the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) and the American Nurses Association (ANA).
The RN will assist in the daily operations of the clinic, including patient care, education, triaging telephone calls, assisting with scheduling, billing, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining medical records.
The Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology will independently manage the nursing care of assigned patients by utilizing the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Administer chemotherapy / biotherapy treatments and monitor patient response.
- Provide patient education related to treatment plans, medications, and side effects.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive care for oncology and infusion patients.
- Triage telephone calls, answer patient inquiries, and assist with scheduling and billing.
- Perform port / catheter / fistula care and IV insertion.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records.
Qualifications :
- 2+ years of current experience in outpatient oncology and infusion care Required
- Port / Catheter / Fistula experience Required
- IV Certification / Peripheral IV Insertion experience Strongly Preferred
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Required
- BSN Preferred
- Current New Hampshire RN license Required (Compact License accepted)
- ONS Chemotherapy / Biotherapy certificate Required
- BLS Required
- ACLS, ONCC Certification Preferred
