Responsibilities

  • Provides physics services related to the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment in accordance with the Radiation Oncologist's prescription.
  • Provides technical leadership including clinical set-up expertise to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists.
  • Performs quality assurance checks according to regulatory requirements and industry standards for all department equipment.
  • Serves as a mentor and team lead for staff medical physicists.
  • Reports to the Manager for Radiation Physics.

Qualifications

  • Masters of Science in Medical Physics or a related discipline.
  • Five years of clinical experience as a medical physicist in a radiation therapy department.
  • Licensure / Certification

  • Board Certified by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation Physics.
  • Licensed as an authorized medical physicist on the State of Georgia Radioactive Material.
  • Participation in the American Board of Radiology Maintenance of Certification Program.
