The Amazon Fresh Grocery team is looking for an Instock / Supply Chain Manager based in Seattle WA or New York.
We are looking for an Instock Manager (ISM) to support the Private Brands category. You will be an individual contributor and will own developing business plans and oversee supply chain and inventory management.
You will lead cross-functional initiatives to improve customer experience and overall cost structure of the businesses. This position will be responsible for leading Instock for an Amazon Fresh Private Brands category for both Online and In-Store channels.
Responsibilities include executing inventory strategies to optimize customer experience, sales, margin and inventory turns.
The ideal ISM will seek the balance of high instock rates and reductions in inventory waste / expiration. They will audit and when necessary dive deep into the core drivers of in-stock and waste performance.
They will proactively identify opportunities to improve tools and work flows. This role interacts closely with retail and operations business partners across Amazon, and is pivotal to the growth of Amazon Grocery.
The successful candidate will communicate effectively across teams and levels, while balancing the needs and requirements of internal and external customers.
They will be relentlessly focused on improving the customer experience. Flexibility and the ability to prioritize in a changing business environment will also be key.

Key job responsibilities
- Manage inventory availability and inventory health including : improved instock, inventory planning, vendor operational improvement (efficiency, fill rates, lead time), forecasting, and waste reduction
- Drive cross-functional strategic initiatives to improve customer experience and overall cost structure of the business
- Perform complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve revenue and profitability
- Partner with internal teams to develop tools, automation, and process improvements that affect purchasing and vendor management workflows
Note : this is a Hybrid role, requiring an ISM to be on-site at least 3 days / week in one of our Amazon Fresh corporate offices
A day in the life
Daily
Manage day-to-day tasks to ensure accurate distribution of purchase orders to vendors and inventory flow through internal Distribution Centers, and third party Distributors
Weekly
Deep Dive weekly performance to identify root cause & corrective action for top misses to instock and waste goals
Manage strategic projects and initiatives to improve metrics, automation, scalability, or efficiency of the role or organization
Monthly
Supporting Quarterly Business Reviews with Vendor Management focused on communicating Vendor performance, gaps, and initiatives to increase product availability and sales
About the team
This role reports up to a Manager of Instock Management (MISM), and works with several ISMs within the assigned category.
Each ISM is assigned a set of SKUs within the category based on their experience and the complexity of the SKUs, their supply chain, and supply base.
This role falls within the Perishables instock vertical, where there are multiple MISMs and ISM teams who face similar challenges on short shelf life grocery products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of with Excel experience
- 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma
