Manager : This role will report directly to the CEO and will be a member of the HR Senior Leadership team (SLT) for the Group Chief People Officer.
Compensation : up to $250,000 + annual discretionary bonus, and LTIP.
Level : This role will sit as a member of the Executive Committee for the USA.
ROLE SUMMARY :
Network HR (the search firm) has been retained by their client to recruit an experienced, US-based Human Resources Director (SVP) to join a global financial services firm and partner directly with the local (US) CEO to drive a growth agenda for North America (approximately 500 FTE).
The client is a mid-sized employer (less than 1200 FTE globally) operating in the financial services sector which generates over $1Bn in annual revenues.
The strategy for the US is focused on continued revenue growth which we anticipate will feature M&A activities. As a business partner and confidant to the US CEO, it will be your job to translate the corporate strategy into a robust People and Culture plan for the US which you will deliver via specialist support from a global Centre of Excellence (COE) and some local in-country HR support to handle the BAU.
This role is broad in scope and therefore will require a true HR generalist with substantial previous experience to draw down from.
Some of the responsibilities will include, but not be limited to :
- Translating regional strategy into focused functional people plans that support business goals and priorities and that add commercial value.
- Understanding external market conditions and potential challenges, making recommendations to mitigate and offset as required.
- Supporting and managing, from a people perspective, TUPE’s and M&A activity, liaising with the Centres of Expertise as required.
- Creating succession plans, talent pools / management for your functions as guided by the Centres of Expertise, Learning and Development.
- Supporting Executive Leadership on key HR issues, escalating complex ER issues.
- Balancing commercial thinking with an HR governance and policy mindset.
- Acting as a trusted advisor, coach, and consultant for senior leaders to improve leadership capability.
- Utilising and working closely with the Centres of Expertise to understand and analyse a range of data with personal experience to develop insight into your business areas, its customers, and the external context it operates within.
- Using insights to identify opportunities, priorities, and potential risks, creating mitigation and optimisation plans, influencing leaders and colleagues to implement them with a view to enhance the long-term health and reputation of the business.
- Coaching and building the capability of senior managers to anticipate and pre-empt organisational issues.
To be eligible for this position you will need to meet the following, mandatory criteria :
- 15+ years’ experience in an HR leadership position where you have partnered with an executive committee (ExCo) level member.
- Experience of sitting as an ExCo member.
- Experience in a global matrix organisation.
- Experience in the Financial Services sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor HR team members.
- Experience of M&A and Change Management.
- An ability to develop and lead strategic HR agendas along with having a practical hands-on’ approach to all HR issues.
- Strong commercial literacy and an ability to present to Boards and Senior Management teams.
- A demonstrable commercial mindset.
