Tru-Cut LLC. offers industry leading steel rule cutting dies for many different applications from print finishing to corrugated to clicker press work.
From full stripping units, blanker units, and phenolic counters, we can manufacture the tools you need. We are also your go to for print finishing such as foil stamping, specialty UV coatings, embossing, fold and glue, and CAD design.
Job Summary : The die shop manager is "hands on" in the production process and requires managing and directing associates to assure efficient and accurate workflow.
This position has 10-15 direct reports.
Duties and Responsibilities : (Additional duties may be assigned)
- Create and maintain a safe work environment
- Effectively communicate job expectations to each associate
- Supervise and coordinate department activities resulting in accurate and timely work output.
- Develop and recommend improvement opportunities.
- Maintain high quality product standards.
- Effectively obtain and maintain all pertinent customer specifications as required before any job is started.
- Pre-flight all incoming and outgoing jobs making sure the information is correct.
- Analyze and correct any quality or customer issues.
- Review current order schedule, make necessary changes depending on output and customer needs.
- Review customer orders and ensure products are shipped within customer deadlines.
- Assist with hiring and training associates.
- Oversee associate work hours and modify if needed to achieve higher output while reducing unnecessary overtime.
- Audit timecards for department payroll
- Perform written and verbal associate performance feedback throughout the year.
- Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Assist with inventory to ensure accurate counts of supplies as well as maintaining correct inventory totals.

- Excellent management and communication skills
Education and Experience :
- Minimum 5 years' management and sales experience
- Engineering background preferred
- Computer proficient
- Blueprint proficient
- Fluent in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
Physical Requirements :
- Able to walk and stand on hard surface flooring for long periods of time
- Often bending and stooping to get supplies and materials
- Must be able to hear and listen to instructions
- Assisting / carrying die boards (minimum weight of 65lbs)
- Must pass pre-employment background check
This is high speed, high pressure production work in a competitive manufacturing environment. Associates must be able to work under pressure to meet customer deadlines.
All associates are responsible for quality control and must meet production standards.
