Jon Greenberg Associates (JGA) is an international architecture and design studio based in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 1971, JGA delivers experiences in branded environments for some of the world’s largest companies like Rolex, Hershey’s and Paradies Lagardere.
Our work ranges in large scale new and renovation construction projects to highly detailed small-scale retail, food and beverage, jewelry, aviation, big box retail, shopping, and civic markets.

What the role is
Designers work within their assigned studio and assist their studio’s Director. They are strong communicators and work on or sometimes lead project teams to maintain design, scope and schedule.
Much like JGA Designers, they are tasked with preparing or modifying designs for construction projects, including but not limited to;
creating imagery, programming, space planning, storefront design and composition, fixture design, product placement, and everything in between.
Designers leverage industry experience and both creative / technical insight to help drive our clients projects from inception to implementation.
Whether you have identified as a creative or technical designer through your past years of experience Designers assist their Studio Director with all the applicable design phases that are appropriate to their strengths, including concept development, construction documentation, research / code analysis etc.
They are strong communicators and collaborate to help maintain design intent, buildable environments, and awareness of scope, schedule and budget.
- Report to their assigned Studio Director
- Ability to prioritize and execute a variety of tasks within multiple projects
- Prepare content for and visual organization of client presentations
- Assist in review and coordination of consultant documents
- Produce and / or assist in the production of Design Development and Construction Documents, including modifications as directed by others utilizing AutoCAD and Revit (BIM)
What it requires
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Industrial Design preferred Master's Degree, a plus
- 5+years of experience
- Expert in AutoCAD
- Experience with Sketch-Up, Revit and Adobe Suite Software2D & 3D Analysis
- Knowledge of the design process from concept to design documentation, construction documentation, construction administration, and sustainable building design
- Understanding of project management process and skills
- Relevant project experience -mid to large corporate, but retail or hospitalitypreferred
