Assistant Director of Nursing - Nursing Home
Located near Princeton, NJ
Currently seeking a compassionate and professional Assistant Director of Nursing to help manage the nursing department of a privately owned facility.
The ideal candidate will be a RN (Registered Nurse) from an accredited school of nursing and have experience as an Assistant Director of nursing in a skilled nursing setting.
Responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Nursing :
- Assist the DON in working with management staff including the Administrator, and Consultants in planning all aspects of the nursing operation, including setting priorities and job assignments.
- Monitor each unit’s activities as assigned, communicate policies, evaluate performance, provide feedback, coach, and discipline as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with residents, family members, staff, and medical team.
- Conduct regular rounds to monitor the delivery of nursing care, effective coordination with other support services, cleanliness and appearance of the residents, and morale of staff and to ensure resident’s needs are being met in a proactive manner.
- Management in Infection Control (IP certification a plus).
- Plan, organize, develop, and direct all in-service educational programs throughout the facility in accordance with the federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
- Track education compliance for all facility personnel and maintain employee education files.
- Coordinate all educational activities in the facility.
- Focus on Quality Improvement and identify areas of educational needs.
- Monitor new employee’s orientation process to ensure successful progress and acclimation to the facility.
Requirements of the Assistant Director of Nursing
- Must have New Jersey RN license
- Must have experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing
- Must have long term care experience
- Must have excellent leadership skills and communication skills
