We are seeking a skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to support our growing practice. As a PA with Colorado Springs Cardiology, you will play a pivotal role in the diagnosis, treatment and management of patients with cardiac conditions.

Essential Functions of the Role :

  • Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
  • Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permitted to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
  • Eligible to provide reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
  • Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from either the Health and Human Services / Office of Inspectors General (HHS / OIG) or the General Services.

Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.

  • Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
  • Prescriptive authority as appropriate, per medical staff service privileging process.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
  • Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the state of Colorado.
  • Acute Care Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Desired Qualifications :

Minimum 1-2 years (more is preferable) of experience in the Cardiology field with either a Cardiology group or Cardiac Surgical group, in either a community hospital or teaching hospital environment.

Candidate should be accustomed to diagnosing and managing the full range of cardiology conditions in both office and hospital-based settings, and familiar with common cardiology diagnostics like ECG’s, holters, pacemaker checks, nuclear medicine, echocardiograms and stress tests.

No cardiac cath lab or EP lab procedural skills are required. Should be familiar with electronic medical records, common cardiology CPT codes and compliant practices.

  • Good communication skills and able to display enthusiasm and composure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Work Environment

This position is a clinical position and will generally report to the office Monday- Friday from 6 : 30 am 5 : 00 PM. Some weekend responsibilities may be eventually required on a rotational basis.

Physical Requirements

  • This position requires full range of body motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, and stand;
  • talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to handle or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms;

and lift up to 50 pounds.
