Summary / Objective
Supports branch network by overseeing the efficient operation of the branches to ensure all operational functions are completely and adequately performed by the staff while conveying a feeling of trust, service, security, and satisfaction to customers and staff.
The position is responsible for overseeing the customer experience associate function, ATM balancing, night depository processing, and customer service duties.
The assistant manager is responsible for account opening administration will also assist the line and other staff during peak periods.
The assistant manager must have a familiarity with IRA services and personal banking products and services.
Essential Functions
- Ensures the branch and vaults are opened and closed on a timely basis.
- Enforces dual control procedures at all times.
- Facilitates weekly cash supply.
- Balances vaults, coin machines, ATM, cash boxes
- Audits Customer Experience Associate drawers, identify and correct Customer Experience Associate discrepancies.
- Maintains monthly branch statistics to evaluate operational effectiveness.
- Assists new Customer Experience Associates with training.
- Oversees customer experience associate duties and assists line with customer transactions during peak periods.
- Ability to recognize and reduce fraud; minimize risk to consumer and the bank.
- Performs audits to ensure ongoing adherence to compliance procedures.
- Conducts wire transfers.
- Keeps educated on all deposit, business, and consumer loan products.
- Accurately and timely, open and close consumer loan applications.
- Accurately and timely, process IRA transactions.
- Balances and troubleshoots ATM / debit card concerns.
- Maintains proper Customer Experience Associate and vault cash levels, including ordering coin and currency.
- Conduct safe deposit box audits.
- Ensures excellent customer service skills are practiced by all the Customer Experience Associate staff members.
- Meets with staff regarding branch security and safety issues.
- Facilitates meetings to disseminate operational information.
- Maintain proper functioning of cash recyclers for branch efficiency.
- Point of contact and ability to troubleshoot Customer Experience Associate Capture within the branch.
- Back up Customer Experience Associate line as necessary.
- Resolve and troubleshoot; online banking inquiries, ATM / Debit Card issues, stop payments and holds, accurately and effectively.
- Maintain visibility in the community as an ambassador of NBSB through meaningful community events and volunteer opportunities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes and updates and convey to staff.
- Identify and promote opportunities for relevant product referrals to consumers.
- Maintain a positive, customer-centric, and communicative team atmosphere at all times.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a bank environment.
Physical Demands

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Must be available to work Monday through Saturday, and all of the branch hours of operation.
Specific days and hours of work are determined based on branch schedules.
Travel
Will regularly travel between any of the Bank's six branches in North Brookfield, East Brookfield, West Brookfield, Belchertown, Three Rivers, and Ware.
Required Education and Experience
- HS Diploma and four years of banking experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior leadership experience as a manager or supervisor role in a bank environment
- Familiarity with Cash Recyclers
