LBK Design Build is a leading design build firm in the Bucks / Montco Area. We are seeking a talented and residential designer who specializes in cabinetry (semi custom and ciustom) to add to our team. This is a position that requires significant interaction with our Clients, Vendors as well as the LBK Team. The Designer is expected to have a minimum of 5 years of experience working with kitchen cabinetry. The Designer will be responsible for producing both preliminary and working design documents for the production hand-off package and for permits.
Job Responsibilities
Client consultation :
Meeting with clients to discuss space planning, cabinetry needs, desired aesthetics, budget, and functionality requirements.
Site measurements :
Taking precise site measurements
Design development :
Creating detailed cabinet layouts using design software, including floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings, considering appliance placement and workflow.
Order and sign off on cabinet sample doors
Material selection :
Advising clients on different cabinetry brands. Reviewing different options for wood species, face frames, and any detailed cabinet specifications.
Cost estimation :
Providing accurate pricing for cabinetry based on design specifications and material choices to the estimator for quoting purposes as well as for final contract pricing.
Collaboration with the team :
Working closely with architects, designers, project managers, and other project stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of cabinetry with the overall project.
Cabinet ordering and fabrication :
Preparing detailed cabinet specifications for order with manufacturers, managing production timelines, and quality control.
Installation oversight :
Providing on site guidance and support during the cabinetry installation process to ensure proper fit and finish.
Key skills of a cabinetry specialist :
Strong understanding of cabinetry design principles, including functionality, ergonomics, and aesthetics
Proficiency in cabinet design software (e.g., 2020)
Excellent communication skills to understand client needs and communicate design ideas
Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality
Knowledge of different wood species, finishes, and hardware options
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Requirements
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time 40 hour per week position. Monday through Friday.
Travel
Light travel is required for this position. You will be attending site surveys and performing job site visits. Most days / hours will be in our main office in Doylestown.
Job Type : Full-time IN OFFICE (Not a hybrid or WFH position)

Salary : $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 / year based on experience
