Our client, a federal credit union, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support a variety of HR functions. The HR Generalist would sit on an HR team of 7, supporting tasks from the HR Manager and Managing Director.
This role support 200 employees.
This role is required in-office 100% to start in Alexandria, VA, but will transition to a remote flexible hybrid schedule once trained.
The salary is $70,000, pending experience.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Leads efforts for college recruitment and internship programs.
- Conducts new hire onboarding and offboarding.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave;
disciplinary matters; performance and talent management; productivity and recognition.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and / or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Participates in employee corrective action, disciplinary meetings and terminations.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
