Data Driven Detroit (D3) is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Data Analyst! This is a fulltime salaried position with a starting salary range of $48000 $58000 per year.

This is primarily a remote position with occasional attendance at inperson meetings or events. A desk in the D3 office is available should the selected candidate wish to work partially or entirely inperson.

At D3 we work every day to improve access to information in Metro Detroit. Our efforts are led by our analytical team who collaborates on a variety of projects to answer our partners questions.

This team has diverse skillsets that range from programming databases to conducting quantitative analysis. The Data Analyst will join this team serving in a translating role between its research and databaseoriented components.

If you re selected for this job you ll join a fastpaced dynamic working environment where ideas and suggestions are welcomed and critical thinking is strongly encouraged.

Your typical days will include regular collaboration with your coworkers on an everevolving suite of projects; cleaning transforming and analyzing data;

creating data visualizations such as charts and interactive maps; supporting D3 s outreach and engagement programs; and helping to strengthen and streamline our internal infrastructure.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • 3 years of relevant professional experience in the fields of Data Science Information Science Urban Informatics or the Social Sciences
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel or database experience
  • Familiar with SQL PostgreSQL Python or similar programming languages
  • Familiar with Tableau
  • Familiar with geographic and spatial analysis
  • Able to communicate technical concepts to a nontechnical audience
  • Flexibility in adjusting workflow based on project needs
  • Willing to explore innovative efficient solutions to problems
  • Able to manage individual deadlines and tasks as part of a project team
  • Curious about data and answering questions
  • Able to work effectively with people across racial cultural gender and other identity characteristic differences
  • Lived experience and / or service providing perspectives that support D3 in our mission especially in serving populations that are underrepresented in society at large.
