Roadway Foreman

Southland Holdings Lake Worth, FL. A Southland Holdings company, Johnson Bros., is currently accepting resumes for a experienced Roadway Foreman for our large heavy civil project.

The Jobsite Roadway Foreman will assist in the execution of and direct the following activities : Manage all segments of roadway work to include understanding project plans and specifications (FDOT), standard grading operations, pond excavations, subgrade preparations, stabilization (mixing), curb pads, layout and controls, Limerock placement, soil cement placement and MOT basic operations.

Must understand basic earthworks principles such as procedures for excavation requirements, erosion controls, material compaction, and dewatering controls.

Capable of submittal and shop drawing review process (Such as : rebar, tendons, stud-rails, concrete etc.) Verify that all required shop drawings, plans, mix designs, special material approvals, traffic control plans, and other documents necessary for assigned phases of work have been submitted and approved prior to start of the work Determine sequencing of work;

provide input to 3 Week Look-Ahead schedules; and communicate updates and impacts to schedule with field engineers on a daily basis.

Review weekly job schedule to assure project is on track. Hold individuals / subcontractors accountable for deliverables and promises.

Schedule subcontractors in accordance to required work schedule. Adhere to safety standards and ensure that trade and subcontractor site safety is in compliance with EGC standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.

Identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutions. Oversee the work to ensure installation is in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents and maintain quality control for work performed by employees and subcontractors.

QA / QC compliance). Requirements : Minimum of 5+ years’ experience within the heavy civil construction industry Background in Earthwork, Underground, Concrete and Asphalt paving Structures background is a plus Proficient with Outlook, Excel and Common Scheduling Programs a plus Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents including drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and the project schedule Solid written and oral communication skills.

Strong leadership qualities. Hold Jobsite Progress Meetings. Ability to schedule in house crews and subcontractors. Must be competent at performing complete and accurate project take offs Proficiency with industry practices, processes and standards OSHA requirements and other legal restrictions.
