About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Technologist Job Specialty : General Surgery Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day Shift, 5x8 Hr Shifts Guaranteed Hours : 40.
00 hours per week Experience : 1 year of OR scrubbing experience preferred; 1 year of clinical experience in an accredited hospital preferred License : None required Certifications : BLS - American Heart Association Must-Have : English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Job Description : Perform scrub duties and maintain sterile supplies and sterile technique- Assist in nursing care and preparation of surgical patients- Assemble, organize, and complete case carts according to doctors' preference lists- Provide appropriate instrumentation, sutures, and all supplies as requested- Ensure and maintain a sterile environment- Assist the surgeon by passing instruments during cases- Count sponges, needles, blades, and instruments using proper technique and established policy- Assist in the maintenance and care of specimens and prepare them for laboratory analysis- Handle specimens, implants, dressings, soiled instruments, contaminated materials, and sharps in accordance with established policy and recommended standards of practice- Assist with timely turnover of rooms, including cleaning up, replacement, and restocking of supplies and equipment- Care for instruments and equipment- Promote the organization's mission, vision, and values, and abide by service behavior standards- Perform other duties as assigned- May float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business needs- May be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift Education : Required : High School Diploma or GED- Graduation from a formal, accredited surgical technologist program is required- Training in the US military may substitute for the completion of the formal surgical technologist trainingApply to join our team and contribute to high-quality patient care and surgical services!
