Overview
The Orthopaedic / Trauma unit consists of 20 beds and primarily serves orthopedic and traumatic injuries. This Unit is a fast-paced environment that sees a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity.
All of our inpatient units are exceptionally collaborative among their staff and share a common philosophy around the value of teamwork, professionalism, and excellent patient care.
Job Responsibilities :
Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department or unit patient safety initiatives.
Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
- Reports adverse events and near misses to appropriate management authority.
- Implements policies, procedure, and standards consistently in the performance of assigned duties.
- Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.
- Displays professional commitment and supports the unit team by promoting unity and teamwork among coworkers by maintaining a positive attitude and positive working relationships.
- Fosters a healing environment for patients and families.
- Assumes responsibility and authority for establishing a therapeutic relationship with the patient and creating an individualized plan of care, and evaluates patient's response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Integrates clinical reasoning and knowledge as the foundation for decision-making.
- Balances patient's rights and organization's responsibilities in providing professional and ethical care.
Schedule : 48 hours per 6 week schedule, 24 of these hours on the weekends. Dayshift and Nightshift opportunities available.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
Nursing Diploma minimum requirement required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing And Over 6 months to 1 year as an acute care Registered Nurse preferred
Licenses and Certifications :
Registered Nurse in PA Licensed, Upon hire, required
Basic Life Support (BLS), Upon hire, required
Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) is available after one (1) year of employment
Orthopaedic Nursing Certification (ONC) is available after one (1) year of employment
