Job Duties
- Review the patient records, reports (including laboratory and imaging), and other pertinent information for patients prior to being seen by the Physician and communicate relevant information to the Physician and / or radiation therapist.
- Room and prepare patients for examinations including consults, follow ups, and procedures according to policy and procedures.
Assist Physician with in-office procedures as needed.
- Collect data and perform focused nursing assessment of new patients. Communicate findings to the Physician
- Accurately record patient assessment and care in the medical record via the electronic medical record system in an accurate and timely manner.
Document patient care such as vital signs, health history, lab results, and other relevant information.
- Review Physician’s notes and schedule appointments, refill medications, as well as complete orders, referrals, and prior authorizations accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with patients by answering questions, providing education, and ensuring their needs are met. Answer patient phone calls and secure messages.
Return voicemails, emails, and secure messages.
- Adhere to clinic protocols and OSHA standards providing a safe environment for patients and staff in the clinic
- Ensure patient confidentiality (HIPAA) at all times and treats patients with courtesy
- Work closely with healthcare providers, radiation therapists, and other team members to provide comprehensive care
Licensing and Certification
- Active LPN / LVN license in the state of Texas
- Certification in Basic Life Support
Skills
- Minimum of three years of outpatient care
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems
