The Senior / Principal CAD Engineer Physical Verification is a technical role within the Engineering Automation (EA) organization at Micron! We deliver DTK (Design Technology Kit) collateral, environments, tools & flows for the design, implementation, verification, and tape out of custom memory designs.

What we develop helps enable DRAM, HBM, NAND, and other emerging memory designs on various industry-leading Micron-developed process nodes!

Responsibilities :

  • Develop Physical Verification tools, flows, and methodologies for the next-generation DRAM, HBM and Emerging memory designs.
  • Drive close collaboration with Design, DTCO, CMOS, and Modeling and Process teams to propose and co-develop capabilities in product development and verification.
  • Develop rule decks and guide the design teams across Micron on DRC / / LVS / CCI / SPF tools and flows including debugging and support.
  • Evaluate EDA industry product offerings, and opportunities for gaining quality, performance, and efficiency.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate has the following qualifications :

  • PhD, MS or BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
  • 6 + years of direct CAD experience in mixed-signal, custom IC design flows
  • Deep understanding and knowledge of Physical Verification tools, flows, methodologies, and quality metrics.
  • Experience in Calibre DRC / LVS / CCI rule deck development using SVRF / TVF and tool support.
  • Knowledge of parasitic extraction, supporting tools such as Star-RCXT, PEX or Quantus would be a plus.
  • Knowledge of CMOS ITF and interconnect Modeling.
  • Familiarity with memory design preferred (DDR3 / 4 / 5, LP3 / 4 / 5, HBM, NAND)
  • Knowledge of CMOS devices, circuit design, layout and verification, and in-depth experience supporting physical verification flows.
  • Experience qualifying vendor tools and internally developed software releases.
  • Experience with Machine Learning algorithms and applications is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills are required.
