The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce of Washington D.C. (SACC-DC) is looking for a Marketing & Business intern starting January 2025.

The internship is a 6-month, full-time program.

Washington, DC, is a vibrant city and international hub. SACC-DC works at the crossroads between politics and business and is part of a dynamic team at the House of Sweden at the Georgetown waterfront.

We share facilities with the Swedish Embassy, SACC USA, and several Swedish companies.

After completing the internship at SACC DC, the intern will have gained hands-on experience and established a broad network to further their international careers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage our social media accounts, edit communication material, such as our monthly newsletter, conduct interviews, and create other content.
  • Assist in organizing and planning events, both significant flagship programs and smaller luncheons or Speaker’s events.
  • Support the Chamber and its members in marketing activities.
  • Perform business / finance-related tasks such as bookkeeping and invoicing.
  • Work closely with the Executive Director and the rest of the office team to plan seminars, company visits, and arrange high-ranking official delegation visits.
  • Handle routine administrative tasks.
  • Actively engage in communication initiatives and member services and oversee the day-to-day operations of the SACC-DC office.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled, or recently graduated, in a university program or graduated within a relevant field of study.
  • Swedish citizenship or strong ties to Sweden (for U.S. VISA purposes).
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in both Swedish and English.
  • Experience with design tools such as Canva or InDesign.
  • Writing experience.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.

PLEASE NOTE : While candidates are welcome to apply for multiple positions at SACC, it's important to highlight that accepting an offered position and subsequently accepting a second position at SACC is not allowed.

Benefits

This is a 12-month internship starting in January, 2025. As an Intern abroad, you can apply for scholarships. Depending on the university program, some students may also be eligible for student aid from CSN.

SACC-USA will assist with the visa application process. You must be a Swedish citizen to be eligible for a J-1 visa.
