Summary :
Conducts procedures and tests using ComputerizedTomography (CT) equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnosticdata.
Hours : Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7 : 00pm-7 : 00 am
This position qualifiesfor a $15,000 commitment incentive which will be paid over a three(3) year work commitment. Equal installments will be paid aftereach six (6) months of work completed.

1.Patient Identification- Uses professional manners and methods,verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, assistspatients and family members that require extra attention, insurespatient understanding whenever possible, and insures patientsafety.
Verifies patient identification, asks and documentspregnancy status on patients of child bearing age.
2. CTScans- Obtains images per protocols, manipulates images accordingto protocols, performs multi-planar and 3D reconstruction of imagedata, demonstrates a thorough knowledge of CT algorithms, andselects appropriate window and level setting according toanatomy.
3. Contrast- Administers oral contrast to adultand pediatric patients according to protocols, establishesintravenous lines, administers IV contrast following safe andproper injection procedures, follows correct procedure to determinecontrast eligibility, checks appropriate lab values before contrastinjection per protocol.
4. Image Transfer- Maintainsthorough understanding of PACS, and transmits images to QC, UNCH'sEMR, EPIC and PACS, verifies and segments images at the QC station,accesses IMPAX service tools to verify images transmission,completes, modifies and / or cancels orders in an appropriate andtimely manner, cancels duplicate orders to avoid duplicate billing.
Insures that all charge information is accurate. Verifies patientidentification in accordance with UNC policy, insures that allappropriate demographic information is accurate and on the PACSimages.
5. Other Duties- Performs task in a timely manner,runs the schedule creating a consistent workflow, volunteers towork on challenging tasks, difficult procedures and new research,produces quality diagnostic images, reviews patient's chart andreports for correlation, maintains a clean and orderly workenvironment, creates and keeps documentation of incidents asimprovement opportunities for employees and the department.

EducationRequirements :
Completion of an accreditededucational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3months at time ofapplication.
Licensure / CertificationRequirements :
Must be registered with theAmerican Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible.For registry eligible candidates : must provide a copy of diplomafrom accredited program.
Requires advanced certificationin CT within one year of employment.
Successfulcandidates must become registered within one year of employment andmust maintain their registry status and continuing educationrequirements annually.
All imaging specialists arerequired to maintain current competency in HCPBLS.
Professional ExperienceRequirements :
