We are committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation and revolutionizing energy forms from electromagnetic spectrum into electricity from infrared to ultraviolet wavelength frequencies, enabling companies to produce solar energy at a cost per kWh less than fossil fuels.

Position Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Engineering to lead our technical team and drive the execution of our innovative projects.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of senior management in high-tech startups, exceptional technical expertise, and a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through all stages of technology development, from concept to market.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead and oversee all aspects of the engineering department, including technical staff, consultants, labs, designs, and projects.
  • Report directly to senior management as directed by the Company, providing strategic insights and recommendations to drive company objectives.
  • Manage and mentor a team of managers and individuals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Build and maintain a world-class research lab and team, ensuring the successful execution of research initiatives and projects.
  • Drive technology development from theoretical concepts to lab experiments, prototypes, and ultimately, market-ready products.
  • Manage the hiring, firing, and development of staff, identifying and cultivating top talent to support company growth.
  • Effectively communicate complex technical concepts verbally and in writing, both internally and externally, including presentations to the board of directors and investors.
  • Handle diverse personalities and skill sets within the team, fostering a culture of inclusivity, respect, and innovation.

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 5 years of senior management experience in a high-tech startup environment.
  • PhD in Engineering or equivalent experience, with a focus on Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or related fields.
  • Expertise in areas such as photonics, device physics, nanotubes, semiconductor manufacturing, and simulation / modeling.
  • Proven track record of successfully moving technology from theoretical concepts to market-ready products.
  • Strong general management skills, including hiring, firing, and building up a diverse technical team.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience presenting to executive leadership, board members, and investors.
