Be part of the connection As Executive Producer , you’ll own the vision for the newscast. You’ll lead your team through story creation to produce compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts. You’ll be responsible for building a positive team culture, while generating story ideas that reflect your local community. You’ll make data-informed decisions to connect your audience with the stories that matter.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision for the newscast and lead the team from story creation to production of compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts.
  • Build a positive team culture and generate story ideas reflecting the local community.
  • Oversee projects start to finish, including breaking news coverage and issue-driven special programming.
  • Engage in hands-on management and training involving graphics, cameras, and cross-newsroom workflow.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience : Producing and executive producing in television news – 5+ years.
  • Management : 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience.
  • Technical Skills : Working knowledge of general computer software.
  • Skills : Basic editing and ability to effectively train others.
  • Travel : Open to travel to discover important stories in the community and engage with the community.
  • Schedule : Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes.

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of newsroom software and basic non-linear editing systems.
  • May be required to lift up to five pounds.

    • Working Conditions

  • Works primarily inside a climate-controlled environment; occasional field duties may be required.
  • Semi-noisy newsroom environment.
