About The Position

A Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) ensures that surgical instruments, medical equipment, and supplies are properly cleaned, sterilized, and prepared for use in healthcare settings, such as hospitals and surgical centers.

Responsibilities :

• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment following industry standards.
• Inspect instruments for damage, cleanliness, and proper functioning .
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment such as autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners.
• Assemble and package surgical instrument trays according to procedure needs.
• Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and ensure equipment is available for procedures.
• Follow strict infection control protocols to prevent contamination.
• Document sterilization processes and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., Joint Commission, AAMI).
• Collaborate with operating room staff to ensure timely delivery of sterile instruments.

Skills & Qualifications :

• Knowledge of sterilization techniques and infection control practices.
• Attention to detail and ability to identify faulty equipment .
• Familiarity with medical instruments and surgical procedures.
• Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) is preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
