SUMMARY

Work as part of a respected team of security professionals protecting the people and property of General Dynamics (GD) NASSCO and US Navy personnel and ships based at GD NASSCO.

Prior security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

• Corporate and Physical Security Officers III (CPSO3) should demonstrate the ability to work independently with no guidance and supervision.
• CPSO3s will demonstrate leadership and mentoring skills, providing guidance and direction for junior officers.
• CPSO3s will serve as the shift lead officer as needed.
• CPSO3s will model and reinforce the following behaviors :

• Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently, making effective decisions.
• Must understand, retain, implement and be able to teach all security procedures as outlined by the GD NASSCO and the US Navy, demonstrating responsible and dependable behavior.

• Must maintain focus and situational awareness in a stressful environment.
• Must continually develop critical thinking skills necessary to mitigate actual and potential security threats.

Assigned duties will include :

• When required, serve as the shift lead officer or acting supervisor.
• Send electronic emergency communications to responders and executives.
• Download, review, and save data from proxy tours.
• Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctioning badges in the absence of Security Administration.
• Facilitate access to NASSCO properties at pedestrian gates, delivery gates, corporate offices, and warehouses.
• Interact with visitors and employees, provide directions and respond to inquiries.
• Screen and bag check of incoming and departing employees and visitors.
• Screen commercial and industrial deliveries.
• Patrol duties, both foot and vehicle.
• Enforce GD NASSCO parking rules and regulations.
• Staff regular and emergency telephone system.
• Dispatch medical services, fire department, ambulance service and law enforcement agencies, assist responding agencies with facility entrance.
• Monitor surveillance cameras and review archived footage.
• Document all incidents in objective and comprehensive reports.
• Programming, Activation, and Deactivation of NASSCO temporary badges.
• Collate, author and transmit shift pass down reports.
• Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to demonstrate mastery of the function and duties of CPSO 2.
• Demonstrate a track record of successful performance at the CPSO 2 level, or equivalent.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• If external, must be able to obtain California Guard Card (within 90-days of hire).
• Be proficient in the English language (i.e. able to read, write, speak, and comprehend).
• Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience in the following computer programs : MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel and basic understanding of computer operations.
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive company vehicles and golf carts.
• Must be open to a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays.
• Must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance per the GD NASSCO grooming standards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Frequent standing and walking throughout shift.
• Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
• Ability to work in various environments such as cold weather, rain, and heat.

PAYSCALE : $49,100 - 69,900

This pay range is a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions;

including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
