Job Details

General Summary : Under general supervision of the Store Manager, manage the Perishable Departments including produce, fresh meat, packaged meats, dairy, frozen food, bread, and bakery products. Assist the Store Manager with inventory management, merchandise presentation, quality customer service, and ensuring a safe working environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through strict cash accountability and adherence to security practices.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain correct perishable stock levels.
  • Train associates in proper presentation, freshness, and pricing standards.
  • Train associates in proper food handling and safety.
  • Record perishable markdowns and take corrective actions.
  • Accurately record inventory levels.
  • Ensure customer needs and requests are addressed efficiently.
  • Maintain compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Assist with other operational areas as directed.

Qualifications

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include reading and interpreting documents, performing mathematical calculations, learning cash register functions, reviewing operating statements, and understanding safety policies. Work experience and education preferred include a high school diploma, retail experience, supervisory experience, and food handling certifications.
