This position is referral eligible!Medical Surgical Acute Care 6 is a 39-bed acuity adaptable medical and progressive level of care unit.

Of the 39 beds, 6 include progressive care level unit rooms. Our primary focus is on gastrointestinal procedures while also including ENT and GYN.

Nurses are trained to care for a variety of medical / surgical patients presenting with COPD, chest pain, dehydration, sepsis, COVID primary focus on gastrointestinal procedures while also including ENT and GYN.

We primarily care for patients with medical conditions consisting of COPD, chest pain, dehydration, sepsis, COVID, and other conditions.

Schedule is : Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 6 : 00am-6 : 30pm!This position is referral eligible!Nursing skills gained : * Time management* Communication* Accountability* Delegation* Basic nursing skillsUnit Successes / Designations / National recognition : * IU Health Team award for care provided to a patient as a team* 3 fully certified staff members* 1 staff member that followed the Medical Surgical to ICU track* 1 RN that followed the Medical Surgical PCU track* First unit in IU Health to onboard a High School Student* Multiple Daisy award nominees in 2023Unit Culture Highlights : * Teamwork* Accountability* Team communication* Quarterly team outings* Learning experiences and environment provided* Unit is comprised of several nursing studentsQualifications* Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN);

Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.* Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.

• Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.* Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit / department specialty according to patient care policies.
