Seeking an experienced Quality Control Technician with PCI certification to support our Team located in San Marcos, TX!
Position Summary : The Quality Control Specialist for Precast Concrete is responsible for ensuring that all precast concrete products meet or exceed industry standards and client specifications.
This role involves inspecting materials, overseeing production processes, and performing tests to guarantee the quality and durability of precast concrete products.
Key Responsibilities :
Inspection and Testing :
- Conduct routine inspections of raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
- Perform and document concrete tests, including but not limited to slump tests, compression tests, and air content tests.
- Evaluate the physical properties of concrete components and mixtures to ensure they meet required specifications.
Quality Assurance :
- Develop and implement quality control plans and procedures for precast concrete production.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to established quality standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
Documentation and Reporting :
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality assurance activities.
- Prepare and present quality reports to management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with industry regulations and company policies.
Compliance and Standards :
- Stay updated with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to precast concrete quality control.
- Ensure all products meet or exceed relevant industry standards, including ASTM, ACI, and local building codes.
- Assist in internal and external audits related to quality management systems.
Training and Development :
- Provide training to production staff on quality control procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality awareness throughout the organization.
Qualifications : Education :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., ACI, PCI) are a plus.
Experience :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in quality control within the precast concrete industry or a similar field.
- Proven experience with concrete testing methods and quality assurance practices
