Job Summary

Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s Rural Health Clinic provides the majority of primary care services for both year-round and seasonal residents of Nantucket. Our team delivers care across all stages of life, from newborns to older adults, in a supportive and collaborative multi-specialty practice environment.

We are currently seeking a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner who is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and becoming a valued member of the Nantucket community. This role offers the opportunity to practice at the top of your license, managing both acute and chronic conditions independently for a diverse patient population.

The ideal candidate will have strong outpatient clinical experience. However, we also welcome new graduates who are willing to complete a structured six-month primary care training fellowship on site before beginning independent practice.

Qualifications

Education

Master's Degree Nursing required

Licenses and Credentials

Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License preferred

Basic Life Support preferred

Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Mass license required

Experience

2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience required

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
• Ability to maintain quality control standards.
• Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
• Ability to communicate clearly and establish / maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.
